“We continue to strongly support production”

Finance and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek shared the industrial production data for May on his social media account.

Explaining that industrial production decreased on an annual basis due to the absence of five working days in May, Şimşek said, “On the other hand, calendar-adjusted production increased by 1 percent annually in the first five months.” gave his assessment.

Emphasizing that the annual increase in high-tech production was 7.9 percent in May, Şimşek said:

“Thanks to the policies we are implementing, we will further increase our value-added manufacturing capacity and competitiveness by transferring the success we have achieved in the defense industry to other high-technology sectors. As we move up the value chain, we do not ignore the problems of our traditional sectors and continue to strongly support manufacturing.”
