Vehicle trade between Turkey and the EU reached 37 billion euros last year

According to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) on vehicle trade between the EU and Turkey, 811,957 new vehicles were exported from the EU to Turkey in 2025.

The value of the exports in question increased by 24.8 percent compared to 2024 and reached 18.8 billion euros.

While Türkiye became the EU's third largest market for new car exports, it accounted for 11.1 percent of the EU export market in value terms in 2025. In 2024, this rate was 8.3 percent.

In 2025, 797,000 721 new vehicles were exported from Turkey to the EU. The value of these exports increased by 18.5 percent annually and reached 18.2 billion euros.

The share of electric vehicles in automobile exports from the EU to Türkiye is 17.4 percent

In the new car trade, including electric models, 713,000 476 new cars produced in the EU were exported to Türkiye in 2025. The total value of these vehicles was given as 15.6 billion euros.

124 thousand 55 of the cars exported to Türkiye from the EU were electric vehicles. The total value of these vehicles reached 3.7 billion euros.

Electric cars accounted for 17.4 percent of EU car exports.

During the same period, 566,000,888 cars produced in Türkiye were exported to the EU. The total value of these vehicles was 9.9 billion euros.

While 7,517 of the automobiles produced in Türkiye are electric vehicles, their total value was calculated at 176 million euros.

Electric cars accounted for 1.3 percent of Turkish-made automobile exports to the EU.

Commercial vehicle exports from Turkey to the EU reached 8.2 billion euros

In addition, 98,000 481 EU-produced commercial vehicles and buses were exported to Türkiye in 2025. The total value of these exports was 3.2 billion euros.

During the same period, 230,000 833 commercial vehicles and buses produced in Türkiye were exported to EU countries. The total export value of these vehicles was 8.2 billion euros.

On the other hand, cars produced in the EU accounted for 49 percent of Turkey's automobile sales in 2025.

While the share of automobiles produced in Türkiye in sales was 30 percent, the share of automobiles produced in China in the Turkish market reached 8 percent.
