Türkiye's first astronaut Gezeravcı met with students

Gezeravcı, who traveled to the city as part of the Burdur Student Technology Festival organized by the Burdur Governor's Office, visited Salda Lake, which is known for its similarity to Jezero Crater on Mars.

Gezeravcı, who met with the students at the Salda Science Center, later attended the “Interview with Young People on Türkiye Space Mission” program at the Conference and Exhibition Hall of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University.

Gezeravcı shared with the students his experiences during space travel, Türkiye's space vision and the importance of studying in the field of science and technology for young people.

Stating that the Republic of Turkey has carried out its 694th program in a period of 25 months since February 2024 when it completed its first manned space mission, Gezeravcı said: “The Republic of Turkey has not carried out its first manned space mission in its 100-year history so that a citizen can fly into space and have an adventure. The Republic of Turkey has carried out this mission as a state that has managed to stand strong in one of the most difficult geopolitical locations in the world to stay.” for hundreds of years and has never allowed its flag to be trampled on, because the guarantee of the future is the rights of its children.” “He fulfilled it as a duty that will inspire him in the paths he will take in the future to experience the happiness and pride that he has done,” he said.
