Türkiye partners with Turkish states in the field of space technologies

At the unofficial TDT summit on May 15 in Turkestan, Kazakhstan, with the theme “Artificial intelligence and digital development,” decisions were made on many topics, from agriculture to transportation, from artificial intelligence to digital and space technologies.

At the summit, attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, artificial intelligence and digital transformation as well as space helmets were among the priority topics of the Turkish states.

In this context, it is planned to regularly hold educational platforms, technology, aerospace festivals and exchange programs focused on the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), especially with studies for young people and women.

Consensus was also reached to strengthen cooperation in human capital development through joint programs on digital literacy, artificial intelligence training, skills development and talent mobility.

Focuses on testing on shared satellites

Cooperation in the field of space activities is also being expanded.

The organization will support joint initiatives aimed at strengthening technological partnerships, developing scientific and human resources potential and deepening cooperation and integration between CSA member states.

One of the concrete examples of effective multilateral cooperation was the nano-class project CubeSat-12U. The focus of the project, which was initiated for scientific purposes, was on the development of satellite and ground tests. The development of the project was assessed at the organization's last summit. Under the TDT flag, efforts to launch the satellite were intensified this year, which was achieved with the joint expertise and technological capabilities of the member states. The project is expected to add a new dimension to the agency's space goals.

In addition, the creation of a legal framework between the Turkish states in the field of artificial intelligence and digital technologies is also one of the goals.

Steps in line with the concept of “space home”

On the other hand, TDT member states plan to gradually take new steps to strengthen cooperation in the space field.

In this context, preparations are being made to organize Turkish Space Days and related events under the TDT flag to promote visibility and collaboration in space sciences within the framework of Space Week, International Astronautical Congress and other global platforms.

All of these steps are seen as efforts to support Türkiye's “space homeland” strategy as well as the goals of sister countries.
