According to the foundation, the aim of the competition, which highlights the importance of vocational training, is to give participants the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice, develop their problem-solving skills and demonstrate their production skills according to industry standards.
At the same time, the competition encourages young people to focus on technical areas and aims to contribute to the training of individuals capable of supporting Türkiye's production capacity.
The competition takes place in 9 different categories that address different areas of the industry. The competition covers the categories of welding, carpentry, plumbing, electrical installation and panel assembly, electrical panel design and application, circuit board assembly, mechatronic technologies, medium voltage technologies and intelligent factory systems programming. Participants can demonstrate their professional skills through applications that are close to real working conditions.
The Plumbing category evaluates knowledge and skills in project design, installation, maintenance and repair of indoor clean water and wastewater systems, while the PCB Assembly category emphasizes applications related to assembling and soldering electronic components to circuit boards.
In the medium voltage technologies category, safe operation, error detection and maneuvering processes in energy infrastructures are discussed and in the mechatronic technologies category, competencies in the areas of electrical electronics, automation and PLC programming are measured.
The Carpentry category highlights design, production and craftsmanship skills, while the Welding category focuses on industry standard welding practices.
While electrical installation and panel mounting applications are evaluated in accordance with IEC standards in the Electrical Installation and Panel Mounting category, knowledge of motor control systems and energy efficiency competes in the Electrical Panel Design and Application category.
In the “Smart Factory Systems Programming” category, participants’ skills in industrial automation are tested in the context of PLC-controlled production lines, image processing systems, robotic applications and autonomous transport technologies.
A variety of participation opportunities are offered
The TEKNOFEST Professional Talent Competition opens its doors to participants of different educational levels and experience groups.
The competition is open to vocational high school students studying at high school level in Turkey and abroad, high school students studying in Turkey and young people who have graduated within the last 3 years.
Students at secondary schools other than vocational high schools must have a teaching, journeyman or master craftsman certificate in the relevant subject area.
Students at universities and technical faculties in Turkey and abroad can take part in the competition.
At the freelance level, people who have at least one year of professional experience in the relevant field or who have developed technical skills through their own efforts and who have an apprenticeship, journeyman or master craftsman certificate, without the need for a professional qualification, can take part in the competition.
Participants who do well in the competition have the opportunity to crown their success with important awards.
At the senior level, the first place winner receives 120,000 lira, the second place winner receives 100,000 lira, and the third place winner receives 80,000 lira. In the university and free level categories, the winners will receive 150,000 lira, the second place will receive 120,000 lira and the third place will receive 100,000 lira.
