Minister Kacır attended the handover ceremony of the 500th Ateş Wind Power Generator in Bergama District within the scope of the Izmir Program.
Kacır said here that we are in a critical period in which global strategies are being rewritten and that countries' environmental emissions targets have led to radical reforms in energy production.
Stating that the share of renewable energy in Turkey's installed electricity output has reached 58 percent due to the decisive and long-term steps they have taken, Kacır stated that they aim to quadruple the existing installed solar and wind energy by 2035.
Industry and Technology Minister Kacır said that $2 trillion of the $3 trillion in energy investments made worldwide last year was in the renewable energy sector.
Mehmet Fatih Kacır explained Türkiye's strength in wind energy:
“As part of our incentive system, we have issued 448 incentive certificates for investments in wind turbines since 2012. We have paved the way for investments of over 411 billion lira. Through the issuance of 68 turbine incentive certificates, we have mobilized 11.3 billion lira in investments in the production of masts, machines and connection devices. A total of 1.3 billion lira for 150 projects and 278 scientists in the field of wind energy technologies within the framework of funding and scholarship programs. The Turkish wind energy industry, which began its adventure with the first domestically manufactured blade in 2002, has achieved an annual turnover of 2.5 billion euros thanks to the strong R&D and production infrastructure we have created. Today our industry directly employs over 20,000 people and exports to more than 50 countries.
HIT-30 High Technology Investment Program
Minister Kacır emphasized that the HIT-30 high-technology investment program announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the largest incentive program in the history of the Republic, will make Turkey an important location for high-tech and value-added production.
Giving details of the program, Kacır said:
“With this call, in which we will support qualified and large-scale investments with a total of 1.7 billion dollars, our aim is to produce at least one original equipment manufacturer with global competitiveness from our country. Of course, Izmir too.” Strong logistics connections, planned industrial areas, competent human resources and high wind energy potential Technology development activities in different phases of the wind industry value chain. Ateş Wind Power, which provides jobs to 950 citizens and has 100 percent domestic capital, is among the companies that lead this cluster through successful production thanks to the strong and respected position our company has achieved in the global wind energy supply chain in the industry We are proud and satisfied with the production of our country's first generator with direct drive technology.
Kacır added that with the opening of Çandarlı Port, the significant logistics needs of the northwest Aegean production ecosystem will be met.
