Turkish lira foreign trade reached 773 billion lira in 6 months

According to the Ministry of Commerce, exports in the January-June period amounted to 136 billion 59 million dollars, an annual increase of 3.6 percent. In June, foreign sales rose 21.9 percent annually to nearly $25 billion, reaching the highest June level ever.

During this period, foreign trade in Turkish lira also increased annually.

Exports in Turkish lira fell by 6 percent in January compared to the same month last year, reaching 24 billion 727 million lira. Imports increased by 18.8 percent in the first month, reaching 83 billion 526 million lira. Thus, the foreign trade volume in the first month of the year was determined at 108 billion 253 million lira.

In the second month of the year, exports in Turkish lira fell by 2 percent to 27 billion 704 million lira compared to February last year, while imports increased by 10.5 percent and reached 92 billion 868 million lira. The foreign trade volume exceeded 120 billion 571 million lira.

While exports in Turkish lira rose by 2.6 percent to 31 billion 675 million lira in March compared to the same month last year in 2025, imports rose by 15.1 percent. In the month in question, imports worth 110 billion 185 million lira were made. Foreign trade in Turkish lira reached 141 billion 860 million lira in March.

The increase in exports in Turkish lira in April caused a stir.

In the month in question, exports increased by 57.3 percent to 38 billion 212 million lira compared to the same month last year, while imports increased by 10.8 percent to 107 billion 669 million lira. The volume of foreign trade in the month in question was calculated at 145 billion 881 million lira.

In May, when Eid al-Adha was also celebrated, there was an annual increase in exports in Turkish lira.

In the month in question, exports increased by 2.7 percent compared to May 2025, reaching 29 billion 466 million liras, while imports fell by 8.4 percent to 82 billion 451 million liras. Thus, the foreign trade volume reached 111 billion 917 million lira in May.

Exports in Turkish lira increased by 26.6 percent to 30 billion 80 million lira in June compared to the same month of 2025, while imports increased by 16.1 percent to 114 billion 383 million lira in the same period. In the month in question, foreign trade worth 144 billion 463 million lira was carried out in Turkish lira.

In the period January to June this year, exports in Turkish lira increased by 12.1 percent compared to the same period last year, from 162 billion 214 million lira to 181 billion 864 million lira. During the same period, imports reached 591 billion 81 million lira, an increase of 10.3 percent from 535 billion 853 million lira.

The foreign trade volume with the Turkish lira in the period January to June amounted to 772 billion 945 million lira, which corresponds to an annual increase of 10.7 percent.
