Turkish companies operating in the field of satellite technologies TÜRKSAT, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), ASELSAN and PROFEN presented their products and services at Satellite 2026, one of the leading organizations in the global satellite ecosystem.
The exhibition, known in the industry for many years as “Satellite”, organized under the umbrella of SATShow with the inclusion of the defense industry-focused event “GovMilSpace”, brought together business leaders, public and military decision-makers and technology experts from around the world in Washington, the US capital.
TÜRKSAT, TUSAŞ, ASELSAN and PROFEN also took part in the fair, which has brought together the most important representatives of the satellite industry since 1981. Turkish companies exhibited their products and services at the fair from March 23 to 26.
“The work and exports of our Turkish companies make us proud”
Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan and Turkish Ambassador to Washington Sedat Önal visited the stands of Turkish companies participating in Satellite 2026.
In his statement here, Sayan said that the progress made by Türkiye in the domestic and national production of satellite systems and their exports illustrates the point reached under the National Technology Move.
Sayan pointed out that satellite-based communications have become a necessity, especially in aviation, and explained that many companies have solutions in this area.
Sayan said: “It makes us proud to know that our Turkish companies are active in areas such as commercial aviation and defense systems and can export them.” he said.
“The achievements of our companies in defense and space technology are very important.”
Türkiye's Ambassador to Washington, Sedat Önal, also expressed his pride and satisfaction with the level achieved by Turkish companies and Türkiye's representation at the Satellite trade fair.
Önal emphasized that technology is a crucial area in Türkiye's relations with the US and pointed out that it is important for Turkish companies to participate in the satellite trade fair and intensify their cooperation.
Önal pointed out that technology is becoming increasingly important not only in the commercial but also in the defense sector and the importance of self-sufficiency in this sector.
Explaining that trade fairs like Satellite contribute to information exchange by increasing interaction, Önal said: “The achievements of our companies in both defense and space technologies are very important. We are proud of them.” he said.
“We see here once again the power of the Türkiye”
Ahmet Hamdi Atalay, General Manager of TÜRKSAT AŞ, emphasized that TÜRKSAT is the “flag bearer” in the space field and that participating in the satellite exhibition with the ecosystem with which they work gives them strength.
Atalay explained that they are aiming for greater participation in the coming years and said: “We are once again seeing the strength of Türkiye here. We are proud of that.”
Mustafa Gürsoy, TAI Deputy General Director in charge of UAV and Space Systems, explained that this year, like every year, they took part in the exhibition and held meetings with international interlocutors and solution partners.
Gürsoy stated that within the framework of the fair, contacts with already submitted international offers would continue and stated that meetings were held to review the current situation. Gürsoy emphasized that the trade fair was productive for TAI.
PROFEN Deputy General Director Yusuf Orbay Soydan emphasized that they have been participating in the fair as a company for about 10 years and that they are proud to represent Türkiye at the satellite fair.
Soydan explained that by participating in one of the largest organizations in the satellite industry, they are visible in the global market and that at the fair they have the opportunity to expand their export areas.
