Trump: Iran agrees never to close Strait of Hormuz again

US President Donald Trump assessed the latest developments surrounding Iran and the Strait of Hormuz in his post on his social media account.

Stating that Iran had announced the full opening of the Strait of Hormuz in his previous posts, the US president said: “Iran has accepted that it will never close the Strait of Hormuz again. This place will no longer be used as a weapon against the world.” he said.

Trump also noted that Iran, with U.S. help, has either removed or is currently removing mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump emphasized that the situation regarding the Strait of Hormuz has nothing to do with the agreement between Israel and Lebanon and stated that the process regarding Lebanon would be conducted separately.

Trump reiterated his reaction to NATO countries, saying: “After the Strait of Hormuz issue is resolved, I got a call from NATO asking if help was needed. I told them to stay away unless they just wanted to fill their ships with oil. They would be useless if needed, paper tigers.” gave his assessment.
