Trump announced that he would “run again” in the next election

Trump spoke at the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the capital, Washington.

In his speech, Trump declared that it would be “easy” for him to run for president again and win the race, adding, “I'm very good at taking this job.” he added.

While announcing that he would re-enter the presidential race, the US President took out the red hat he wore during the campaign and put it on.

While it was clear that “TRUMP 2028” was on the hat, the room full of journalists fell silent for a while in view of Trump's statement.

He had previously made contradictory statements about his candidacy.

In a statement on May 5, 2025, Trump said he would relinquish the presidency after eight years.
