Trump announced that 18 US soldiers had died in the war with Iran

In his statement on his social media account, Trump shared data about the wars in which the US has been involved.

Comparing the death toll in Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, Korea and the Iran War, Trump said: “Military conflict in Iran: 4 months, 18 dead.” he said.

The number of dead US soldiers rose to 17

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that two soldiers lost their lives and one soldier was missing in the Iranian attack on the US base in Jordan on July 17.

The Pentagon noted that the identities of the two soldiers have been established and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

CENTCOM announced that a soldier died during the controlled destruction of unexploded ordnance from Iran's unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in Iraq on July 18.

The incident in Iraq brings to 17 the number of U.S. soldiers declared dead in the war that began with U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran in February.
