US President Donald Trump has made new statements about the Strait of Hormuz on his Truth Social platform. Trump said: “Many countries will send warships to the region in cooperation with the United States to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.”
In his post, Trump said he would increase operational pressure on U.S. forces, saying: “We will destroy the American coast and continue to sink Iranian ships at sea.” He argued that the Strait of Hormuz would be made “open, safe and free” as quickly as possible, regardless of conditions.
Claiming that Iran's military capacity has been largely neutralized, Trump targeted countries such as China, France, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom that are affected by the restrictions in the strait. Trump stated that these countries should send warships to the region in coordination with the US and claimed that the threats posed by Iran would be completely ended with a multinational force.
