The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has announced the sales indices for March.
Accordingly, the seasonally and calendar-adjusted total sales index rose by 4.4 percent on a monthly basis in March.
The calendar-adjusted total sales index of the industrial, construction, trade and service sectors increased by 34.6 percent on an annual basis in the same month.
Industrial and construction indices
The industry's calendar-adjusted sales index rose by 33.2 percent on an annual basis in March. The seasonally and calendar adjusted industrial sales index rose by 5.7 percent in the month in question compared to the previous month.
While the calendar-adjusted sales index in the construction industry rose by 22 percent on an annual basis in March, the seasonally and calendar-adjusted sales index in the construction industry fell by 0.9 percent compared to February.
Trade and services indices
The calendar-adjusted trade turnover index rose by 35.9 percent in March compared to the same month last year, and the seasonally and calendar-adjusted trade turnover index rose by 4.9 percent compared to the previous month.
In the services sector, the calendar-adjusted sales index rose by 36.5 percent in March compared to the same month last year and the seasonally and calendar-adjusted sales index in the services sector rose by 2.8 percent compared to the previous month.
