The US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued a written statement on the sanctions against Albanese.
The statement noted that Albanese, who was on the International Criminal Court (ICC) sanctions list, has been removed from that list.
No information was given about the reason for the decision.
In his statement in July 2025, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Albanese was placed on the sanctions list because of his efforts to ensure that the ICC takes action against the US and Israel.
On the other hand, Albanese announced in his statement on May 14 that the sanctions imposed against him by the Washington administration had been suspended by a court decision in the United States.
