According to the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK), administrative penalties imposed under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 were increased by 58.46 percent, taking into account the reassessment rate.
Accordingly, the lower limit of the minimum penalty imposed on data controllers for failure to comply with the disclosure obligation has been increased from 29,852 lira to 47,303 lira and the upper limit from 597,191 lira to 946,308 lira.
The upper limit of the administrative penalty to be imposed for failure to fulfill obligations related to data security, non-compliance with KVKK decisions and violation of the obligation to register and notify the Data Controller Register was increased from 5 million 971 thousand 989 lira to 9 million 463 thousand 213 lira.
