According to the Ministry of Finance and Finance, it was decided to temporarily activate the Ecel cellular system in order to limit the impact of the rise in oil prices due to geopolitical developments on inflation and reduce their impact on citizens' budgets.
The system will be implemented by reducing the SCT for these products by up to 75 percent of the increase amount when the prices of some petroleum products increase from March 2 from that date.
In this regard, there is a discount of up to 14.8277 lira per liter for gasoline, 13.9006 lira per liter for diesel and 11.3830 lira per kilogram for liquefied gas.
Even if the price of these products decreases, the SCT will be increased up to 75 percent of the reduction amount, and this increased amount will not exceed the SCT in effect on March 2.
Only 2.5 lira of the 10 lira increase will affect citizens
In order to limit the price increase that will occur due to changes in international oil prices and exchange rates in fuel and LPG prices, 75 percent of the special consumption tax on these products and the associated VAT will be waived.
For example, if the price increase for the products in question is 10 lira, only 2.5 lira of this amount will be reflected in the market price and the remaining 7.5 lira will be covered by the tax.
Thus, prioritizing inflation control by foregoing large budget revenues and ensuring limited reflection of fuel and LPG price increases in the market.
