The use of fiber optic internet in Turkey is increasing day by day.
With the use of developing technological products and Internet technologies in many areas of life, the number of fiber optic subscribers in Türkiye will reach 10 million in 2025.
While the number of fiber optic Internet subscribers was 4 million 840 thousand 908 in the last quarter of 2021, the next year it increased to 5 million 702 thousand 865. The number of subscribers, which was 6 million 753 thousand 379 in 2023, exceeded the 8 million threshold in 2024 and was registered at 8 million 72 thousand 629. Last year, the number of fiber optic subscribers approached the 10 million mark, reaching 9 million 845 thousand 226. Thus, the number of fiber optic Internet subscribers has doubled in the last 5 years.
While the number of “Fiber to the Home” subscribers was around 3.5 million in 2021, it was over 8.6 million last year. The number of Fiber to the Building subscribers fell from 1.3 million to 1.1 million over the same period.
The fiber length exceeded 680,000 kilometers
With the increase in the number of subscribers and the high demand for fiber optics, the length of fiber optic cables has also made significant progress in 5 years.
As of the last quarter of 2021, operators' fiber length increased from 471,000 20 kilometers to 680,000 524 kilometers last year.
Thus, the fiber length in Türkiye has increased by 44 percent in 5 years.
