In his written statement, Minister Yumaklı congratulated citizens on their holiday and wished that the holiday would be healthy, peaceful and problem-free.
Yumaklı emphasized that the inspections of the ministry teams at the sacrificial sales and slaughter sites will continue uninterrupted, explaining that the animals that were brought to the sacrificial markets by producers but could not be sold will be purchased by the ESK this year as in previous years.
Stating that the sacrificial animals in question will be purchased between June 1 and June 7, Yumaklı added:
“Our producers can apply to our facility with documents such as transfer reports from the provincial and district directorates of agriculture and forestry for the sale of sacrificed animals, as well as access to the sacrificial market, rental and transportation invoices. After the necessary checks are carried out in the TÜRKVET system, the animals are purchased in accordance with the “Instructions on Animal Purchasing Criteria and Implementation Principles” of our facility.”
Prices are set by ESK
In this regard, the ESK purchase prices for cattle sacrifices for this year were set at 600 lira per ton, 530 lira for heifer and 470 lira for cow per kilogram of carcass.
The purchase prices for small livestock per kilogram were 480 lira for lamb with tail, 410 lira for yearling, 400 lira for ewe, 270 lira for kid, 250 lira for goat and 200 lira for goat.
The purchase price for tailless lamb was set at 600 lira per kilogram, for one-year-old lamb at 550 lira and for sheep at 490 lira.
On the other hand, these prices are maximum prices and may vary depending on age, sex, yield and carcass weight.
