The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul, which followed a buying-oriented trend on Friday, closed the day at 11,311.31 points, gaining 0.69 percent in value.
At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 37.92 points or 0.34 percent compared to the previous close, reaching 11,349.23 points. The banking index rose 0.25 percent and the holding index rose 0.07 percent.
Among the industry indices, forest paper printing recorded the highest increase at 1.38 percent and mining recorded the largest decline at 1.41 percent.
Global markets started the week on a negative note, with continued concerns over artificial intelligence and technology companies and uncertainty over Federal Reserve (Fed) policy. The domestic markets, on the other hand, differed positively from the global markets and started the day with a plus.
Analysts said that today the country's budget balance, industrial production in the euro zone and the New York Fed manufacturing industry index abroad are being tracked, and said that 11,400 and 11,500 points in the BIST 100 index technically represent resistance, while 11,200 and 11,100 points represent support.
