With the passage of the bill amending the Turkish Penal Code and certain laws, known as the 11th Justice Package, which will be on the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in the coming days, some general health insurance premium debts will be settled.
This regulation waives the collection of all unpaid general health insurance premiums and additional claims such as late payment penalties and late payment interest that are due before January 1, 2016.
This will pay off the general health insurance premium debt of 3.2 billion lira, which 1 million 477,000 people were unable to pay.
This regulation, which provides for the waiver of particularly low-value claims that citizens cannot pay or forget to pay for various reasons, is expected to come into force in the new year.
