According to the World Halal Summit Council, the event, organized under the auspices of the Presidency with Anadolu Agency (AA) as the global communication partner, in collaboration with the Standards and Metrology Institute of Islamic Countries (SMIIC), the relevant body of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and under the coordination of the Ministry of Commerce and the Halal Accreditation Agency, brought together the global players of the Halal market again this year.
The organization, which took place with a net floor area of 15,000 square meters, hosted nearly 35,000 people, including 38 participating countries and 113 visiting countries. In the organization, whose total number of participants was reported as 497, 7 different country business meetings, more than 2,500 B2B meetings and 10 meetings were held. The organization, which included 48 speakers from 16 countries, provided important opportunities for new potential in retail by hosting ETHEXPO, Private Label (Private Label Products), NOV (Natural, Organic, Vegan), Global Seller Summit, H-FOOD Food and Food Technologists, Country Economic Forums and B2B meetings.
The program, which began with the opening speech by Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, was a high-profile international summit attended by about 20 countries at ministerial and vice-ministerial levels. The fact that many countries, especially Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, TRNC, Afghanistan, Oman, Iran and Pakistan, participated with high-level representation this year showed that Türkiye's coordination and leadership role in the halal ecosystem was strongly confirmed at the international level.
A strategic cooperation agreement was signed in the area of halal products
B2B meetings and country business forums held during the event provided important opportunities for trade between countries. In the economic forums of the countries of Oman, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria and Palestine, reasons were sought for agreements that would expand the country's economy.
While the target for trade between Turkey and Oman was $5 billion, it was emphasized that there is great potential for all companies, especially Turkish contractors, in Tunisia, Palestine, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan in the new period. At the economic forum with Saudi Arabia, it was stated that trade between the two countries should increase exponentially. In addition, a strategic cooperation agreement on halal products was signed between the two countries at the 11th World Halal Summit.
The ETHEXPO Eurasia Tourism and Health Fair, one of the special areas of Halal Expo 2025, brought together the players of both sectors. While it was noted that health tourism has a crucial importance for Türkiye's tourism potential, the position of artificial intelligence in the smart tourism and health ecosystem was also discussed. While it was noted that Türkiye's geopolitical location offers great commercial potential for both sectors, it was also announced that tourism agencies have a crucial importance at this point.
New markets were discovered with Private Label and NOV
The Private Label and NOV areas, one of the special areas of the Halal Expo 2025 organization, brought together the participants and visitors of the trade fair and provided important opportunities for brands looking to expand globally. Changing consumer habits on a global scale are found to present great opportunities for companies operating in the private label products market.
The private label area, created for private label products whose global market target has increased to $2 trillion through digital sales and the diversification of these channels, brought together the companies and visitors participating in Halal Expo 2025 and laid the foundation for important agreements. On the other hand, the special NOV area served to promote innovative products and technologies on the market. While Malatya's natural and organic products were exhibited at the stand of Malatya Metropolitan Municipality, which participated in this area, Malatya was declared a host province in the Halal Expo 2025.
The 12th World Halal Summit and Halal Expo 2026 will take place from November 25th to 28th, 2026
One of the organizations that attended the event was the Global Seller Summit. The Global Seller Summit, held jointly with the Global Seller Academy, highlighted potential opportunities in line with the goal of managing the growing volume of the Halal market, creating new trade bridges and strengthening Türkiye's strategic role in the global supply chain.
While addressing the importance of user experience in the e-commerce system, the Global Seller Summit discussed the innovations, changes and gains in this ecosystem as well as future expectations in this regard and noted that Türkiye is expected to take the regional leadership position in a very short time. At the 11th World Halal Summit, which discussed critical issues and opportunities in the halal market, expert guests and industry experts shared their opinions on halal standardization, trade, food safety, conservative fashion and ethical business practices. Particularly conservative fashion presentations attracted great attention, with hundreds of international designers and buyers taking part, clearly demonstrating Türkiye's potential as a global fashion and manufacturing center.
