Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır made a written statement on the Terminal Istanbul project.
In the statement, Kacır informed about the ongoing works of the Terminal Istanbul Project at Ataturk Airport and said: “Terminal Istanbul is the initial phase. The first step of the world's largest entrepreneurial center. Very soon.” he said.
The world's largest center for entrepreneurship
On the other hand, the Istanbul Terminal, which will be built at Ataturk Airport in line with the vision of the National Technology Move, will connect Türkiye's technology ecosystem and young entrepreneurs with world giants, according to the ministry's statement.
The center, designed to host thousands of entrepreneurs, technology companies and investors, will serve as the world's largest entrepreneurship hub with universal accelerator programs, co-working spaces and incubation centers.
Thanks to established strategic international collaborations, Terminal Istanbul will bring global knowledge, capital and experience directly into the Turkish ecosystem.
In this context, the partnership with Techstars, one of the world's largest accelerators, will be one of the strongest examples of the active participation of global players at the Center.
Turkish companies' access to global markets is systematically supported thanks to the contacts established in various regions, especially Pakistan, Qatar, Paris and London, and the connections established with the Turkish diaspora and international technology platforms.
A cluster structure is created
The Tech Visa Program implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Technology paves the way for high-potential startups from different regions of the world to operate in the Istanbul Terminal.
While the rapid adaptation of foreign companies to the Turkish market is ensured through soft landing programs, grants, exemptions and incentive mechanisms, domestic companies are also supported to expand into global markets.
The center will accelerate the commercialization processes of deep technology initiatives, especially through shared laboratories, shared access to expensive equipment, supply centers for consumables and digital infrastructure solutions. This aims to find a direct solution to the problem of non-commercialization of academic studies and R&D results.
In addition, thanks to the cluster structure created with the contribution of domestic technology leaders and global companies in 34 different technology verticals, vertical expertise is provided in a wide range of areas, from artificial intelligence to biotechnology, from mobility to space technologies.
Türkiye's competitiveness will increase
By integrating all the crucial components of the entrepreneurship ecosystem under one roof, Terminal Istanbul will have a dynamic campus identity that will last throughout the day with the holistic model it offers.
To make it easier for entrepreneurs to access finance, private investor networks, support programs and investment preparation processes are integrated directly into the center's operating structure.
To meet the skilled human resources needs of entrepreneurs, scholarships, talent development, alumni networks and artificial intelligence programs will be implemented, and special regulatory advisory centers will serve to quickly resolve public approval and legislative procedures.
The center, which supports entrepreneurs by giving them access to global networks and meetings with executives and industry leaders from the diaspora, will maximize stakeholder interaction through intelligent matching tools and digital platforms.
