The cooperative information system is put into operation at full capacity

The Ministry of Commerce statement recalled that with the amendment of the Cooperative Law No. 1163 in 2021, important steps were taken to enable cooperatives to operate more effectively, efficiently and transparently.

The statement said that KOOPBİS was established under the change and said: “At this point, the period during which our cooperatives must transfer the necessary information and data into the system will have expired on April 26, so KOOPBİS will come into effect.” Statements were recorded.

The statement informed about the amenities that the system will offer to the cooperative partners and explained that thanks to the e-government integration, those affected will be able to access information about the cooperatives of which they are partners.

The statement pointed out that shareholders receive precise information about the financial situation of cooperatives before general meetings and can use their right to information more effectively.

Digital tracking in management processes

The statement said that the system will facilitate management by including in the system the records of all natural and legal persons who are partners of the cooperative, as well as activity reports and balance sheets, and that it will be possible to monitor the accounts and transactions of the cooperative, including past records, in the digital environment.

The statement noted that since the general meetings are held on the basis of partners registered in the system, the attendance lists are fully and correctly generated from the system, noting the following:

“Given the existence of cooperatives and cooperative partners under the purview of the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, it will be possible to compile more accurate statistics about our country's cooperatives from a holistic perspective and to conduct additional studies on our cooperatives from this point onwards. May this be beneficial for our country and our cooperatives.”
