Dousa made a statement at the entrance to the meeting of trade ministers of EU countries in Brussels.
Commenting on the footage of the abuse of Global Sumud Flotilla activists by Israel's far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Dousa said: “Ben-Gvir's video has changed the dynamic. We see that the Swedish-French initiative we launched a few weeks ago is gaining broader support.” he said.
Dousa pointed out that a tougher policy towards Israel was now needed, saying: “It should not be possible for products from occupied territories to enter the EU almost duty-free.” he said.
Dousa pointed out that she wanted the EU Commission to present concrete measures in this area as soon as possible and stated that they would keep this issue on the agenda at the next meeting.
“More and more countries have said that enough is enough. Now we have to move to partial sanctions against settlers and settler organizations,” said Dousa. he said.
Dousa noted the importance of stopping the import of products from occupied territories into the EU, adding that while the world's attention is focused on the war in Iran, it cannot ignore what is happening in the West Bank.
