The statement made on the social media account of the Social Insurance Institution (SGK) said that the duration of maternity benefit was increased from 16 weeks to 24 weeks for single pregnancies and from 18 weeks to 26 weeks for multiple pregnancies.
The statement said that starting May 1, 8-week payments for ongoing reports will be made automatically, without the need for an application.
In this regard, it was established that mothers who gave birth on October 16, 2025 and whose report expired before May 1, 2026 will be paid for 8 weeks based on their employer's notification to the institution.
On the other hand, it was noted that mothers do not need to submit a request to health care providers or the institution to expand their reports in order to benefit from this right.
