Some refineries in Russia received permission to produce low-standard fuel

The Russian government's written statement also outlined the decision to address the country's major fuel problem.

Accordingly, some refineries will be able to produce gasoline and diesel with the “Euro 3” standard until December 31, 2026.

The Russian Energy Ministry's statement on the decision said that the application will bring an additional amount of fuel to the domestic market to meet current needs.

The Euro 3 standard has a higher sulfur content than the types of fuel currently sold in Russia.

While many facilities in the country are serviced by unmanned aerial vehicles due to Ukraine's attacks on oil refineries in Russia, the Russian government occasionally resorts to sales and export restrictions to ensure stability in the fuel market.

On the other hand, in Moscow and St. there are restrictions on the sale of fuel in about 40 regions, including in the cities of St. Petersburg.
