ROKETSAN's goal is to put the national satellite into orbit

ROKETSAN General Director Murat İkin noted at the “Global Strategies Conference in Defense and Aviation Industry” held at Belek Tourism Center in Antalya that as ROKETSAN, they are making efforts to ensure Turkey's independent access to space.

İkik stated that they are working to build platforms that can carry payloads such as satellites into space and that they have carried out research and development studies and initial tests.

Stating that they have developed technologies that will allow Turkey to reach a stage where it can compete in the space race, İkik said, “Our goal is to launch a 100-kilogram satellite of our own manufacture with the microsatellite launch system to put into orbit. “It is very important for us to show that our country is present in the space race and to develop technologies that convert the economic potential in space into value,” said.

Secondly, he said that as ROKETSAN, they strive to export weapon systems not only for Turkey's needs but also to many countries, especially friendly and brotherly countries.

Stating that they have recently started a major export step, İkik pointed out that they have a very wide export network covering the Middle and Far East countries as well as Europe and the American continent.

Ikinci pointed out that with the successes in Turkey's defense industry, its own products have also attracted serious attention, emphasizing that with the increase in the conflict environment and armament in the world, interest in ammunition, missiles and missile products has also increased.

Stating that they are trying to gain a share of this market as ROKETSAN, İkik said: “We are achieving very successful results. By achieving successful results in the tenders we conducted with our European and American competitors, we are taking steps to quickly increase the market export potential of our country. In 2023, we exported over $300 million to more than 30 countries. We want to increase this number to over $500 million. We transfer half of ROKETSAN sales from export to R&D and production activities. “We are one of the largest research and development organizations in the country,” said.

Mass production of the TAYFUN rocket continues

Second explained that their new products have found a place in the Turkish Armed Forces and the international market because they devote a large part of their income to research and development: “The TAYFUN missile is our own long-range missile. We recently signed a mass production contract with the Defense Industry Presidency and Land Forces Command. Mass production continues. said.

Secondly, he emphasized that they are striving to ensure that the requirements of NATO member countries are met by the Turkish defense industry.

“KARAOK has been exported, its contract has been signed”

Second explained that after seeing their effectiveness on the battlefield, they realized that man-portable air defense systems and anti-tank systems had great potential:

“Everyone makes demands about this. The products in this area are not at a level that can meet this demand. Our country has invested in this area, producing the SUNGUR man-portable anti-aircraft missile system and the short-range anti-tank missile system KARAOK and putting them into mass production. Big chance. We not only meet the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces but also evaluate the export potential. If we had not made these products, our country would be in trouble regarding this technology, which is difficult to find in the world. KARAOK was exported, his contract was signed. We continue to negotiate export contracts for SUNGUR. These are the products we will sell the fastest. will be at the top.”

Stating that the integration of the National Vertical Launch Launcher System (MIDLAS) into the Istanbul frigate has been completed, the second said: “We want to launch our anti-aircraft missile from MİDLAS. We want MİDLAS to be expanded to other frigates. MİDLAS.” also “bad neighbors make owners” is one of the examples. As ROKETSAN, we developed this system that Turkey could not obtain. It has great export potential. We are seriously working with Far East countries to place MİDLAS as a product in ship modernization and shipbuilding. We plan to convert this into a contract as soon as possible. he said.
