After Iranian media announced that the Revolutionary Guard had launched a new attack to avenge the death of Ali Larijani, secretary general of the Supreme National Security Council, the Israeli army said in a statement that the air defense systems were trying to prevent the missiles fired from Iran.
Sirens reportedly sounded in many cities in central Israel, particularly Tel Aviv, due to Iranian missiles.
An AA correspondent in the region reported that a multi-headed missile fired by Iran was spotted in the skies over Tel Aviv and loud explosions were heard repeatedly.
The Israeli television station Channel 12 said that, according to preliminary findings, damage was caused by the multiple-warhead rocket at four points around Tel Aviv.
On the other hand, it was stated that sirens rang twice in quick succession in occupied East Jerusalem and that there were very violent explosions in the sky over Jerusalem.
