According to the company, guests who combined the July 15 holiday, Democracy and National Unity Day, with the weekend brought the highest passenger traffic ever to the airport on July 12, breaking records in four different categories in just one day.
Sabiha Gökçen Airport broke the record for the highest single-day passenger traffic in its history on July 12 with 166,734 passengers. The airport, where the intensity of international operations stands out, has surpassed the previous records set in July.
The “number of international arrival flights” at the airport reached 257, the “number of international arrival passengers” reached 49,280, and the “total number of international flights” reached 505, reaching an all-time high.
Thanks to the coordination and comprehensive planning of the Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport Airport Authority (HEAŞ) and the terminal operator ISG, the heavy traffic was managed smoothly.
All units, from air traffic control to ramp operations, from terminal services to security, cleaning and passenger routing processes, worked continuously around the clock.
Rising passenger demand supported growth
According to the latest data from Airports Council International (ACI Europe), ISG increased the number of passengers by 7 percent in the first 5 months of the year compared to the same period in 2025, becoming Europe's fastest growing airport in the “large airport” category with an annual passenger capacity of over 40 million.
In May, it became Europe's fourth fastest-growing airport in the same category, with a growth rate of 2.9 percent.
In the passenger traffic ranking, Sabiha Gökçen maintained its 9th place in Europe in the first five months of the year and in May.
