The reporting deadline has expired for income taxpayers who are actually subject to tax due to their commercial, agricultural and professional activities, as well as for taxpayers whose income consists solely of wages, rents, income from movable property or other income and income.

Millions of taxpayers used the Ready Declaration System developed by the Revenue Administration to declare their income last year.

As a result, there was a 232 percent increase in the total tax base reported by these taxpayers over the last three-year period.

2 million 558 thousand taxpayers who received income from rent, wages, income from movable capital and other income and income also submitted their returns through the Ready Declaration System. As a result of the work aimed at taxpayers who have not submitted a return despite having income in previous years, 37,000 returns have been submitted since the beginning of the year for 2024 and previous years.

According to the GIB, although 4.4 million reports were made in 2024 and about 5 million reports last year, the total number of reports made increased by 24 percent this year compared to 2024 and reached a record 5 million,457,000.

After the income tax return deadline, the tax authorities sent a thank you SMS to taxpayers who had submitted their tax return on time and paid their first installment.

The details of these taxpayers are forwarded to the tax offices in order to initiate criminal proceedings against them.

In this process, taxpayers who want to pay their taxes also have the option to file a tax return through the Digital Tax Office (dijital.gib.gov.tr) or the Ready Declaration System (hazirbeyan.gib.gov.tr) and pay taxes by direct debit or credit card through these systems.
