Record after record in the automotive industry – Latest news

According to the compilation of Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters Association data, Türkiye's automobile exports increased by 12.3 percent in the January-November period compared to the same period last year and reached 37 billion 764 million 784 thousand dollars.

The automobile industry, which broke a record last year with exports of 37 billion 211 million 661 thousand dollars, exceeded this figure in 11 months this year and reached the highest level ever.

The automotive industry, which continues to rank first in Turkish exports, is preparing to become an export leader for the 19th time in the last 20 years (excluding 2022).

The automobile industry, which exported to more than 200 countries as well as autonomous zones and free zones in the January-November period, received a 15.3 percent share of Turkish exports.

Records were also broken in sub-sectors

Exports of the “supplier industry”, which is the locomotive of the automotive industry, increased by 5.1 percent in the January-November period compared to the same period last year, from 13 billion 742 million dollars to 14 billion 444 million dollars. The ancillary industry, which broke an export record last year with exports of 14 billion 879 million dollars, is expected to surpass this record with its exports in December.

“Passenger Car” exports, another important sub-sector of the sector, reached 11 billion 692 million dollars from 11 billion 57 million dollars in 11 months, an increase of 5.7 percent compared to the same period of 2024. The passenger car industry, which achieved its highest exports of $12 billion 383 million in 2018, is expected to break a record by exporting more than $691 million in December.

Exports of “motor vehicles for the transport of goods” increased by 30 percent in 11 months compared to the same period last year, from 4 billion 974 million dollars to 6 billion 492 million dollars. The sector, which includes the group of light commercial vehicles, pickups and trucks, which reached its highest export value in October last year at $5 billion 577 million, continues to break records.

In the January-November period, exports of “buses, minibuses and midibuses” reached $2 billion,985 million from $2 billion,311 million, an increase of about 30 percent compared to the same period last year. Industry representatives move up the list of successes by surpassing the record export of 2 billion 568 million 154 thousand dollars in the entire 2024 in the 10 months of this year.

In the “Other” category, which includes other subheadings such as “tractors,” “motor vehicles for special purposes,” and “railway vehicles,” exports worth $2 billion, 151 million were made in the 11-month period.

Exports to the main market of Germany exceeded $6.1 billion

In the period January-November of this year, most exports were to the main market of Germany. Exports to Germany amounted to $4 billion, 422 million in the eleven months of last year, and $6 billion, 143 million were made in the same period this year, an increase of 39 percent.

Automobile exports to France, which ranks second, rose 15 percent in 11 months, from $3 billion, 822 million to $4 billion, 398 million.

Exports to the United Kingdom increased by 2 percent in the January-November period, reaching $3 billion,853 million from $3 billion,778 million.

In the January-November period, Spain was the fourth country with 3 billion 166 million dollars and Italy was the fifth country with the most automobile exports with 3 billion 24 million dollars.
