Colombian President Gustavo Petro addressed Israel's attacks on Lebanon despite the ceasefire in his statement on his social media account.
Petro said he supports U.S. peace negotiations with Iran, saying, “This month, as my country holds the presidency of the United Nations Security Council as President of Colombia, I support and respect this agreement. Because it means more 'life' for the world. Based on my readings in the Bible, world constitutions and international law created by humanity, I believe this agreement should be respected by all nations.” he said.
Petro called on Trump to stop Israel from attacking Lebanon, saying:
“The State of Israel, on the other hand, has decided to continue attacking the sovereign Republic of Lebanon with missiles. I believe it is time for President Donald Trump to have the full support of humanity to end this terrible conflict and for the people of Israel to join us in ensuring that their government stops attacking their neighbors who may be their brothers and not their enemies.”
According to the agreement between Iran and the US, it was stipulated that a ceasefire would be implemented on all fronts, including Lebanon, which provoked reactions in Israel.
