The NASA space telescope, Hubble, published a brand new photo of Hat Galaxy (Messier 104), one of the most impressive galaxies in the sky. This picture was specially prepared for the 35th anniversary of the telescope.
31 million light years away
Hut galaxy, which is located in the direction of the Virgo constellation, is about 31 million light years away from the earth. Since it has both spiral and elliptical galaxy features in terms of its structure, scientists classify it as a “extraordinary galaxy”.
The intensive strips of dust that surround the galaxy give it the appearance that resembles the edge of a hat. Thanks to this unique shape, both professional astronomers and amateur skives attract great attention.
Old visual reunion
Hubble showed the 2003 Hutgalaxy for the first time. This photo was one of the best -known frames of the telescope. Now the same framework has been arranged thanks to advanced image processing techniques. In the new picture, the details in the internal structure of the galaxy and the stars in the background are much clearer.
Stern production is low, high brightness
Although it is a galaxy full of stars, Hutgalaxy is still in star production. Only one star is formed each year. In addition, the bright central and almost edge structure of the galaxy makes it difficult to examine.
The infrared observations by James Webb World space telescope showed a huge black hole in the middle of the galaxy with a 9 -billion sonnen mass. The dust structures around them show a order specific for spiral galaxies.
This extraordinary galaxy, which is neither a complete spiral nor completely elliptical, is one of the favorites of everyone who is interested in the sky with its unique appearance.
