Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır attended the “Youth Meeting” at the Century Congress Center of Kırıkkale University in Turkey with Turkey's first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı.
Emphasizing that Turkey's most important strength is its loyal, dynamic and hardworking Turkish youth, Kacır said: “We have a young and dynamic population that no other country has. We have a population that is 10 years younger than Europe and 15 years younger.” “That is very valuable because it changes the world,” he said.
Minister Kacır stated that the owner and subject of the national technological push that Turkey is continuing with the claim of complete independence in critical technologies and the possibility of being able to competitively export innovative technologies to the world is the Turkish youth of the TEKNOFEST generation.
Stating that they see Turkish youth at the heart of every work carried out in the name of the national technology movement led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Kacır said: “Turkish youth have proven to a large extent how great things they can achieve , if given to them.” The opportunities and the obstacles that lie before them will be removed. The successes we have achieved in the defense industry and aviation in recent years have shown the whole world what the children of this country can achieve when the obstacles in front of them are removed,” he said.
Stating that Turkey's entire industrialization history is a history of failed stories, Kacır continued as follows:
“Until the 2000s, but in the 2000s, a strong will said: 'This nation will develop and produce, with its own resources, everything its children need, and we will pave the way for them,'” he said and the true Children of this nation produced BAYRAKTAR, AKINCI, AKSUNGUR, ANKA, HÜRKUŞ, HÜRJET ATAK, GÖKBEY, KIZILELMA and KAAN with their own sweat and mind and brought them together with the sky. The Turkish nation literally expressed its signature in the sky. What will happen , when the children of this nation make their way?
“We will reach the moon with our national hybrid rocket engine”
Minister Kacır emphasized that they now aim to transfer their success in the defense industry and aviation to space science and technologies.
Kacır reminded that President Erdoğan founded the Turkish Space Agency at the end of 2018 with this aim and understanding, and recalled that they announced the national space program to the world in 2021.
Stating that they have made progress in space science and technology step by step over the past 20 years, Kacır continued in his speech as follows:
“Hopefully we will send the first national communications satellite, TÜRKSAT 6A, into space on July 8, 2024. Turkey will be one of the 11 countries developing and producing its own communications satellites. Then the goal is further. İMECE operates at a distance of 600 kilometers, TÜRKSAT 6A will operate in a fixed orbit. However, the goal is for Turkey to reach the moon. With the technology it has developed, we will travel 380,000 kilometers and reach the moon. Our young people can achieve this.
“We will bring Turkey together with the space industry”
Minister Kacır said: “Turkey is now among the top four countries in the world in hybrid rocket engine technology. If we succeed in realizing this technology in space as part of our lunar program, we will be the first country to achieve this.” Hopefully, we will commercialize this technology and develop spacecraft that will carry out interorbital satellite transfers in Turkey. Space is an economically growing area. The size of the annual space economy has reached about $600 billion and is expected to grow to $1 trillion in a few years. We will bring Turkey together with the space industry. We have both the will and the means and the ability to do this. he said.
Pointing out that they will build one of the most important observation infrastructures of not only Turkey but also this region in terms of space observation in Erzurum, Kacır stated that a telescope with a diameter of 4 meters was built at the Eastern Anatolian Observatory and that they will put it into operation this year.
Stating that they will establish a space technologies development zone in Ankara, Kacır said:
“We will both take the gains we have made through the satellite development activities to a higher level and hopefully, if successful, will have developed a technological capability that will enable Turkey to gain a share in the global space economy. That's what we want.” No scientist or researcher in Turkey working in the field of other nations and “Turkish scientists living abroad should know that this state and this country will continue to support them in carrying out the most advanced research if they continue their research in Turkey.” This mission is actually very valuable for Turkish youth and children to gain self-confidence.
Minister Kacır said: “No young person or child of this country will ever stop dreaming because they are now among the children of other countries. This is the purpose of Turkey's first manned space mission. We will continue to stand by you.” Excitement, hope, future and future. said.
After the speeches, Minister Kacır and Turkey's first astronaut Gezeravcı took photos with the young people. Gezeravcı then spoke to young people about aerospace issues.
The program was attended by Governor Mehmet Makas, AK Party Deputy Kırıkkale Mustafa Kaplan, Mayor Mehmet Saygılı and Rector of Kırıkkale University. Dr. Ersan Aslan, protocol members and students were present.
After the program here, Minister Kacır visited Governor Mehmet Makas in his office and signed the Governor's Book of Honor. Kacır received information about work in the city from Makas, with whom he met for a while.
Later, Kacır visited the Kırıkkale Municipality Science Center, received information about the center from Mayor Mehmet Saygılı and officials, and chatted with the students.
Kacır recently attended the consultation meeting with industrialists under the program, which was held in the Kırıkkale Organized Industrial Zone in camera.
