Responding to journalists' questions on the presidential plane, Trump said: “We destroyed Iran” and claimed Tehran had lost its navy, air defense systems and air force.
Trump explained that they were targeting Iran's unmanned aerial vehicle production facilities, saying: “Iran wants to negotiate, but I don't think they're ready yet.”
Trump also reiterated that the Strait of Hormuz should be kept open. Noting that they were holding talks on Hormuz security, he said: “We are meeting with seven countries.”
Trump also made comments to the British newspaper Financial Times.
He said China should also help keep the Strait of Hormuz open.
Trump also said that the summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping scheduled for later this month could be postponed.
