FNSS Defense Systems, one of the leading military vehicle manufacturers in Turkey, has been serving numerous users at home and abroad for 35 years with 24 different defense systems that the company developed itself using national resources.
FNSS, which develops and produces tracked and wheeled armored combat vehicle families and weapon systems for use by the Turkish Armed Forces and allied forces, enables these products to create export potential worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
In addition to these vehicles, FNSS has applied for patents and utility models for numerous technological solutions with the innovative subsystems it has developed.
Due to these activities, the company recently won an award in the “Large Enterprises” category of the companies that have increased the number of utility models the most at the 60th Anniversary Awards Ceremony of the Ankara Chamber of Industry.
FNSS has recently achieved many technological solutions, most of which are the result of original research and development projects, and converted them into patents and utility models.
The company applied for a patent for the Cross Drive electric transmission for serial hybrid tracked vehicles that was created as part of these studies.
The invention includes an electric cross-drive transmission used in electric and series hybrid vehicles, tracked vehicles, skid steer military vehicles, unmanned land vehicles and work machines. The primary purpose of the invention is to achieve common advantages through the combination of cross-driven and independently driven structures. While the right and left pallets are powered by two independent electric motors, a differential gear group and a third drive motor are inserted between these motors, allowing mechanical power transmission. In this way it is possible to use smaller engines and an effective and efficient distribution of power between the 3 engines is achieved in view of the tasks assigned to the engines. At the same time, if a single engine fails, the journey continues with the other two engines.
This solution created a new, economical, useful and practical gear design while solving the existing problems of current technology.

The patent-pending Power Group Test Unit is designed to confirm and test whether the elements such as the engine and transmission commonly found in the power group of armored vehicles provide the necessary parameters and function smoothly.
Elements such as engine and transmission in the performance group of 6×6, 8×8 wheeled armored vehicles developed in the defense industry are tested to confirm that they provide the required parameters and function smoothly before being reinstalled into the vehicle after maintenance operations.
The main purpose of the invention is to enable simultaneous testing of all elements of the performance group without having to install them on the vehicle. Designed as a portable system, the system can be used anywhere, unlike a fixed test setup.
The invention informs the user in particular about speed, gear, temperature, fuel value, battery status and possible malfunctions in the system through a display, warning and instrument panel. The device has a control panel that allows starting the engine, adjusting the engine speed, changing gears, reading the measurements taken by the sensors and displaying the relevant parameters on the screen and/or warning and instrument panel.
With the device, maintenance technicians can carry out the maintenance of the performance groups optimally and the maintenance time of the performance groups is shortened. This prevents critical vehicle malfunctions and increases their availability. The device can be powered by internal batteries without an external power source.
