According to Antara Agency, Secretary General of the Indonesian Presidency Dudung Abdurrachman made a statement at the TNI Peace Force Mission Center in West Java province.
Dudung explained that 742 TNI personnel will be deployed to UNIFIL to ensure the rotation of Indonesian peacekeepers serving in Lebanon.
Dudung said the troops were ready and stressed the importance of ensuring the safety of soldiers.
In his speech here, Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono stressed the seriousness of the situation in Lebanon and said security is a priority.
6 soldiers died in attacks against UNIFIL
Four Indonesian UNIFIL soldiers were killed in two separate attacks in southern Lebanon on March 29 and 30.
UNIFIL announced that two French peacekeepers lost their lives on April 18 in an attack believed to have been carried out by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
This brings the number of UNIFIL soldiers who lost their lives in the attacks against UNIFIL in Lebanon to 6.
