Hot weather warning in France: Orange alert issued in 53 provinces

The statement from French weather agency Meteo-France said the country could experience record-breaking temperatures between June 21 and 23.

In the statement, which said the alert level had been raised to orange in 53 provinces, representing more than half of the country's provinces, Meteo-France warned to be cautious of hot weather.

Festivals have been postponed

According to local media, music festivals organized by municipalities in Seine-et-Marne, Gironde, Sarthe and Charente-Maritime were also canceled due to the high temperatures.

In addition, oral interviews that were scheduled to take place at some universities in the city of Poitiers were postponed due to weather conditions.

The Home Office has also set up a free helpline to provide advice on precautionary measures against hot weather.
