Gezeravcı: Good news will be announced soon

Turkey's first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı said in the program at the Şahinbey Congress and Art Center that he was happy to hold one of the first meetings for the return of the first manned space mission, which was carried out on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic.

Gezeravcı expressed his enthusiasm to meet the astronauts of the future, noting that he has been interested in space since childhood, but does not dream of seeing himself there, but the current generation can dream of it, saying, “With Thanks to the strong will of our state, Turkey has now taken its deserved place in space. From now on, the next generation will follow this path. he said.

Astronaut Gezeravcı pointed out that human spaceflight is only one of Turkey's ten space goals:

“Just as the launch took place in Florida, our country will conduct this launch itself in the years to come. Our state continues its work in this process. Much good news will be shared by the elders of our state in the near future. Our country has set serious goals and what we have achieved is just one of the goals set by our country. We have successfully achieved this goal: “We have arrived. Progress towards achieving the other 9 goals continues. Hopefully you'll get good news soon.”

Stating that Turkey continues its investments in space and will be part of the space ecosystem, Gezeravcı stated that one of the goals is a hard landing on the moon in the coming years using its own fuel.

Stating that they started preparing for their return after conducting experiments in space for 14 days, Gezeravcı continued as follows:

“During this time we received information that our return had been postponed. During this time, we conducted experiments to explain what changes the zero-gravity environment caused for our elementary school-aged siblings. Since we didn't have time for the first 14 days, we made good use of the extended day. There were people who asked out of curiosity: “Were you affected by this delay in returning?”, were you sad, did you want to return? While we were there An environment that the Republic of Turkey has dreamed of for 100 years, it is not possible to be sad or wait for a return. Every minute we have is a blessing.”

Stating that Gezeravcı flew the glorious Turkish flag in space and that he was a source of pride for Turkey, Şahinbey Mayor Mehmet Tahmazoğlu stated that Turkey is no longer the old Turkey.

The event featured videos reporting on experiments conducted in space.
