Full support for Turkish entrepreneurs from Informatics Valley

Erkam Tüzgen, managing director of Informatics Valley, assessed the valley's activities.

Recalling that Informatics Valley operates in four locations: Istanbul, Kocaeli, Izmir and Azerbaijan, Tüzgen said that the number of companies operating in Informatics Valley, which was established in 2019 under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology , had risen to 600. Tüzgen pointed out that these companies employ more than 8,000 people, and more than 6,000 of the employees work in research and development and software and directly contribute to technology production.

Tüzgen pointed out that the first autonomous, i.e. driverless, bus used in Europe today was manufactured by a Turkish company in Informatics Valley, and said that the bus is currently in use in two different countries in Europe and one state in the USA be used.

Tüzgen stated that as Bilişim Vadisi there are two investment funds with a size of more than 500 million liras and that they have invested in almost 50 companies so far.

Pointing out that these are long-term, high-risk, high-return funds, Tüzgen said: “We continue our investments. After two to three years we will start to generate profits from it. We will soon set up an entrepreneurship center in an area of ​​3,000 square meters in Istanbul Informatics Valley “We plan to set up a satellite incubation center at this location,” he said.


“A mobility entrepreneur can come here in the idea phase”

Tüzgen explained that they support all kinds of transportation-related technologies in the mobility sector and that with the Mobility Acceleration Program they have been supporting companies from a broad perspective for 4 years, from education to office equipment, from investments to finding investors.

Explaining that any topic related to transportation is the subject of the Mobility Acceleration Program, Tüzgen said: “All of our companies that work in the field of mobility can apply for the program. We also accept applications from abroad for our program. Some of the foreign companies.” want to benefit from the benefits of the program and some of them are interested in the new technologies that will emerge here.” “You can apply to reach us quickly,” he said.

Explaining that a mobility entrepreneur can come here as early as the idea phase, Tüzgen said that they support the entrepreneur in every phase he needs, from maturing his idea to starting a company.


“There are pre-orders for the flying car from abroad”

Tüzgen pointed out that in this way companies could cover the distance that they could cover in years in a significantly shorter time and made the following assessments:

“Thanks to the Informatics Valley ecosystem and the Mobility Acceleration Program, entrepreneurs in Turkey can quickly export their products to the world, and since we launched the program in 2019, the number of applications has increased from 256 to 600. There is a company in Informatics Valley that develops radar systems for automobiles. It is preferred by both Togg and international brands. Our camera manufacturer, which sold its first products to automobile manufacturers, is now able to sell to many automobile brands and our vehicle tracking system manufacturer also exports to Europe. Another friend of ours, who had previously initiated a project in Germany, has now reached the stage of commercializing his product by improving himself with the Mobility Acceleration Program and moving his investment to Turkey. Today, studies on the development of flying vehicles continue to be carried out in IT Valley. More than 100 unmanned flight tests have been carried out so far. It will begin human testing soon. Pre-orders were received from abroad. “

Tüzgen explained that they brought 42 schools to the country to develop high-value-added workforce and create alternative career opportunities, saying that it is one of the best software schools in the world.

Tüzgen explained that these teacherless schools can turn an average person into a very good software developer and said: “Anyone over the age of 18 can apply to these schools, regardless of the industry. Our schools are free.”


The applications are expiring

However, applications for the Mobility Acceleration Program, which was held for the fourth time this year, close today.

Startups with business ideas in the areas of electric vehicle technologies, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and machine learning, battery technologies, functional safety, micromobility, logistics and Internet of Things can apply for the program, which aims to accelerate innovative ideas in this field of mobility.

Last year, Bilisim Vadisi supported 38 entrepreneurs to advance their projects with the program he launched to develop mobility-oriented business ideas.

Within three years, more than a thousand entrepreneurs have applied for the Mobility Acceleration Program. The program offers more than 120 entrepreneurs the opportunity to benefit from mentorship, training, seminars and investment funds.
