The White House statement announced that President Donald Trump reached an agreement with Chinese President Xi Jinping on various issues during the first visit of a US president to China since 2017.
The statement, which provided information on the agreed topics, said the two leaders decided to establish US-China trade and investment committees to improve economic relations.
The statement said the Board of Trade will allow the US and Chinese governments to manage bilateral trade in non-sensitive goods, while the Board of Investment will provide an intergovernmental platform to address investment-related issues.
The statement said Trump had completed negotiations on a comprehensive package of commitments designed to support high-paying U.S. jobs and open new markets for U.S. goods and provided an update on those commitments.
China approves purchase of 200 US-made Boeing aircraft
The statement said China will address U.S. concerns about disruptions in the supply chain of rare earth metals and other critical minerals, as well as U.S. concerns about bans or restrictions on the sale of rare earth production and processing equipment and technologies.
The statement noted that China had approved the purchase of 200 U.S.-made Boeing aircraft on behalf of Chinese airlines, and emphasized that this would create well-paying, high-skilled jobs in the U.S. manufacturing sector.
The statement said that in addition to the soybean purchase commitments made in October 2025, China will purchase at least $17 billion of U.S. agricultural products annually in 2026, 2027 and 2028.
The statement noted that China had regained market access for U.S. beef products and that the country had also resumed poultry imports from U.S. states proven to be free of bird flu.
