According to Sarp Civil Administration, there was a high number of passengers at the Sarp border gate in Kemalpaşa District in Artvin from May 23 to 31, the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Those who came from different provinces of Türkiye and wanted to spend their vacation in Georgia, which can be entered and exited with an ID card, caused a stir at the border gate.
During the holiday season, 93,191 people entered Türkiye through the border gate and 92,430 people left the border. The total number of crossings was recorded at 185,621.
During the Eid al-Adha holiday, 19,674 vehicles of bus, minibus and automobile categories passed through the border gate.
The busiest day for vehicle crossings was May 28th.
