“Contrary to Trump’s claims, no meetings took place between the two countries.”

Speaking to the official Iranian agency IRNA, Muqaddem assessed US President Trump's claims that they were “holding talks with Iran”.

Stating that they had “heard” Trump's claims from the press, Mukaddem said: “According to the information I received, and contrary to Trump's claim, no direct or indirect meeting has taken place between the two countries so far. Of course, it is clear that friendly countries are always in consultation with both sides to end this aggression, but the friendly efforts of these countries do not mean negotiations between Iran and the US; on the contrary, it is an attempt to create a productive basis for dialogue between them.” Tehran and Washington, who will hopefully end this forced war.”

Muqaddem said that unlike the US, Iran has always been in favor of dialogue and used the following statements:

“We have always wanted to solve problems through dialogue, but after Washington's betrayal of diplomacy (the US and Israel launched attacks for the second time while the negotiation process between Tehran and Washington was still ongoing), Iran courageously defended its country and nation against the aggressors, and the world is witnessing the enemy's helplessness in the face of this cowardly aggression.”

The Iranian diplomat said he respected the efforts of friendly countries to end the war.

In his statement yesterday, US President Trump claimed that they were actively negotiating with Iran. Iranian officials disputed Trump's claims. The U.S. and Israeli press had suggested that Iranian and American officials could hold talks mediated by Pakistan.
