“Attempts to force surrender are doomed to failure.”

According to the official Iranian agency IRNA, Pezeshkian made this statement during his visit to the emergency center in Tehran.

Pezeshkian criticized the “double standards” in the international system, stressing that a military attack on a country violates “generally accepted” principles and that the war against Iran waged by the US and Israel is unlawful.

Noting that civilians and civilian centers were also targeted in the US-Israeli strikes, the Iranian president said: “What justification can there be under international law and humanitarian principles for targeting civilians, prominent figures and children and destroying vital centers, including schools and hospitals?” asked the question.

The Iranian president said that despite the US-Israeli attacks, Iran has not compromised on its “principled” stance, saying:

“Iran does not seek war and instability and has always valued dialogue and constructive interaction with various countries. On the other hand, attempts to force the country to surrender are doomed to failure. The Iranian nation will never accept such an approach.”
