The Robotaxi Autonomous Passenger Vehicle Competition is organized into two categories: Original Vehicle and Finished Vehicle Category.
Teams competing in the Original Vehicles category compete to be the best by producing all vehicle production and software from A to Z. In the Ready Vehicle category, teams will run their software on autonomous vehicle platforms provided as part of TEKNOFEST. Both categories involve independently carrying out various tasks in a real track environment.
The competition, open to high school, associate, undergraduate, graduate and graduate students as teams, pits teams of high school students and teams of university students and above against each other in the same category. The final of the competition, which focuses on performing various tasks autonomously in a real track environment and developing autonomous driving algorithms valid for both categories, is scheduled for August 2024. As a result of the competition, the first place winner in the “Unique Vehicles” category will receive 200,000 TL, the second place winner will receive 150,000 TL, and the third place winner will receive 120,000 TL. In the “Finished Vehicle” category, the winner will receive a prize of 150,000 TL, the second will receive a prize of 120,000 TL, and the third will receive a prize of 100,000 TL.
Young people who have turned the TEKNOFEST spirit into a success story
The YTU-AESK team, which left its mark on the Robotaxi and Efficiency Challenge competitions at the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival in 2019 and 2020, has transformed the TEKNOFEST spirit into a perfect success story. The team further increased its success with Robeff, the technology company founded by team members in November 2021.
With the platforms it has developed for electric and driverless vehicles, Robeff produces solutions for the logistics industry and has managed to become one of the world's leading companies in this area with its technology. Robeff, who is also a graduate of the first semester of the TEKNOFEST Entrepreneurship Program, received an investment worth $1.5 million. With the inspiration they received from TEKNOFEST, Robeff set an important example for future generations.
TEKNOFEST 2024 Technology competitions
The world's largest technology competitions, organized within the framework of the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, provide 30 million TL in awards and over 55 million TL in material support to technology enthusiasts who demonstrate excellence in prestigious competitions under the motto “You are”.
