The competition attracts great attention with the use of artificial intelligence solutions, which are now widely used in the field of information technologies in the health sector.
The “Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare” competition is organized to find solutions to problems that may arise in the healthcare field and to increase the knowledge and trained workforce.
Future healthcare solutions with artificial intelligence
One of the main purposes of artificial intelligence studies is to protect, monitor and improve people's physical and mental health. For this reason, it is of great importance to look at the healthcare sector from many perspectives, e.g. B. from preventive, detection, management and monitoring perspectives for artificial intelligence solutions to develop ideas and solutions with added value.
In the competition at TEKNOFEST 2024, young people will compete in two categories: Disease Detection with Computer Vision at the high school level and Disease Detection with Computer Vision at the university and higher levels. As part of the competition, teams are expected to analyze mammography images using computer vision, extract entity names from mammography radiology reports, and predict BI-RADS category. Additionally, this year teams will be asked to combine image processing and natural language processing.
High school students and graduates studying in Turkey and abroad, bachelor's, associate degree, master's, doctoral and open education university students and graduates are eligible to apply for the competition.
In the competition, for which applications close on February 20, the first prize in the category “Computer Vision Disease Detection – Senior Level” is 100,000 TL, the second prize is 80,000 TL and the third prize is 60,000 TL. In the “Disease Detection with Computer Vision” category, the first prize at the university and higher levels was 150,000 TL, the second prize was 120,000 TL, and the third prize was 100,000 TL.

The Nevasoft team, which took part in the “Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare” competition at TEKNOFEST 2022, achieved 3rd place. Nevasoft develops innovative software and devices for diagnostic solutions in medical laboratories. Nevasoft, which is also a graduate of the TEKNOFEST Enterprise program, received a crowdfunding investment of 4 million TL at a valuation of 36 million TL with its software project that analyzes medical results obtained from blood samples using artificial intelligence to diagnose blood diseases.
HEVI AI is participating in the TEKNOFEST 2023 “Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare” competition and is developing diagnostic support systems in radiological images using state-of-the-art deep learning methods. In this way, it increases the capacity of radiologists and therefore hospitals, speeds up their reporting and ensures greater accuracy by reducing errors.
Hevi AI serves 37 hospitals and generates revenue of over $340,000. Hevi AI, which took a place at TEKNOFEST Izmir, also won the Web Summit Qatar participation award with the award at Take Off 2023.
