A team of scientists from Australia and Chile have found striking details about the extremely bright and massive quasar named “J0529-4351” during observations with telescopes in the Atacama Desert in Chile.
After research, astronomers concluded that this quasar, which is 500 trillion times brighter than the Sun, may be the “brightest object in the universe.”
12 billion light years from Earth
The astronomers found that the quasar in question is located 12 billion light-years from Earth and also determined that the mass of the black hole at the object's center is 17 to 19 billion times that of the Sun.
Details of the research were published in the journal Nature Astronomy.
