The 15-year-old employee, who founded the company “NeuraTurk Teknoloji ve Elektronik AŞ” in August last year to work on “brain-computer interface” technology, focused on research and development to produce the domestic EEG headset .
The employee released the first prototype of the product in February this year as a result of the activities he carried out with his young team in his office at the Incubation Center in Teknopark Ankara.
The brain interface technology that the young entrepreneur is focusing on can be used in many areas, from neuroscience research to medical applications, from education to the defense industry. In this context, in addition to the “Local EEG Headset Project”, employees and his team are also working on the development of projects in the areas of rehabilitation, aviation, gaming and Industry 4.0 in which this technology can be used.
They will prepare the second prototype in about a week.
The employee said that “brain-computer interface” technology is classified as an “advanced and profound technology” worldwide.
Stating that these technologies require a long research and development process, the employee said regarding the project they are working on: “In this process, you need to produce more than one prototype to get to the final product. We released our first prototype in February and even received investments by presenting our prototype at the Ankara Productivity and Technology Fair. We will release ours. About a week later we will release the second prototype. “We want to have the device available for sale by January 2025.” said.
The employee provided information about the technologies offered by the product and continued as follows:
“When a person thinks about something, wants to perform an action, or receives training, there are different responses between different neurons in the brain. If you can read it, measure it, display it on the computer and give commands, open the doors.” This technology can also be used to control an unmanned aircraft and measure whether the training has been completed or not. In addition, it can also be used on the rehabilitation side, as we do on.”
Regarding Turkey's “investment”, “employment”, “production” and “export” strategy, the official said that it works in line with this strategy, keeping in mind being local and national in all areas .
The employee stated that there are no EEG studies that are commercialized in Türkiye. “We have closed this gap. 'While this technology is produced abroad, why is it not produced in Turkey?' We started with the question: “Our goal is to serve the country and also bring foreign currency to Turkey through exports.” he said.
The employee expressed his feelings and thoughts on Ataturk Memorial Day on May 19, Youth and Sports Day, saying: “It is great that you are using your youth energy to contribute to your country, your nation, your state. With this awareness we must look forward on May 19th. Why we work is much more important than how we work.” he said.
The employee added that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also showed interest in their work in this process.
