The flag-raising ceremony at Wall Street Bowling Green Park was attended by New York Consul General of Türkiye Muhittin Ahmet Yazal, representatives of diplomatic missions, representatives of Turkish schools, associations and non-governmental organizations, and many Turkish citizens.
At the ceremony, after a minute's silence and short speeches, the Turkish flag was raised with great enthusiasm in the famous financial center.
After the flag was raised, the Defense Ministry's Mehter Band performed for participants.
The 43rd Turkish Day parade, which was first held in the United States in 1981 in response to the martyrdom of Turkish diplomats at the hands of the Armenian terrorist organization ASALA and has continued traditionally since then, will take place tomorrow in New York.
As part of the Turkish Day parade, the Mehter Band will perform Turkish anthems along the march route. As part of the program, well-known names in Turkish music will also take the stage in Madison Square Park.
The aim of the events is to provide a powerful experience that reflects Türkiye's historical and cultural background.
