Information about the traffic accident was given in the written statement by the communications attaché of the Turkish Consulate General in Jeddah.
It was stated that the accident occurred near Mahbes Garage in the city of Mecca when a bus hit people who were in the area to perform Umrah prayers.
It was stated that Abidin Dağköy died and Emine Dağköy and Birol Yalçın were injured in the accident.
While Yalçın, one of the injured receiving treatment, was discharged, an ambulance plane was reportedly requested for the other injured.
It was noted that consular authorities took immediate action after the incident, initiated the necessary diplomatic and health processes and contacted the families.
It was also informed that investigations into the incident were being carried out by Saudi Arabian authorities.
